Workshop Description

Overview: We know from research that Autistic learners face many challenges in accessing school environments, including sensory, demand, intellectual, and social and emotional overwhelm. We also know from research that many teachers just don?t feel equipped or knowledgeable about how best to support their Autistic students, even though they desperately want to. If that?s you, you?re certainly not alone. This full-day event will reframe our understanding of what autism is and their unique learning needs.

Objectives: The objectives of this session are to provide attendees with a basic understanding of human behavior, the unique learning needs of students with autism, and provide strategies to support students in the classroom.
