School Data Use: Activating the Cycle of Inquiry (Southern Region, Comprehensive and Targeted Only)

Workshop on Using Data to Inform Instruction

Date(s) & Time(s) November 14, 2019   ~  9:00 am - 11:30 am
Workshop Description As an added support to comprehensive and targeted schools in the southern region that have chosen PLCs and/or data use as one of their SMART goals (or as a strategy within a SMART goal), the southern Regional Support Team (RST) is pleased to invite you to a workshop on school data use. During this workshop, attendees will learn about the cycle of inquiry as it relates to school data use; become familiar with suggested protocols to help organize the work of school data teams and PLCs; and be provided time to reflect, strategize, and create a plan to act on school data.

Due to space restrictions, registration is limited to teams of three (3) attendees per school. This workshop is recommended for instructional coaches, lead educators, teacher leaders, or other school staff who lead the work of school data teams and/or PLCs. Follow-up support at individual schools can be provided by the RST.

NOTE: This session will rely heavily on participants' reflection on their own data and practice. Teams should plan to bring their laptops and their own timely and relevant data to reflect upon during our time together. Examples of data you may choose to bring with you include NJ SLA results/evidence statements, benchmark data, classroom/intervention assessment data, etc.

Doors open at 8:30; light refreshments will be served from 8:30-9:00 a.m.
