Webinar Description This technical assistance session will provide local education agencies (LEAs) with guidance and support in applying for the Funding for Optimal Comprehensive Universal Screeners (FOCUS) grant. This initiative provides funding to New Jersey public LEAs serving students in Grades K-3 to support the selection and implementation of high-quality universal literacy screeners, in alignment with P.L. 2024, c.52.

Through the FOCUS grant, LEAs will receive $10 per K-3 student, based on 2023-2024 enrollment data, to purchase and effectively utilize universal screeners that strengthen early literacy instruction. This grant opportunity is designed to equip educators with the tools and training needed to interpret screening data and apply it to differentiated instructional practices and targeted interventions that address the diverse needs of young learners.

All New Jersey public LEAs serving students in Grades K-3 are eligible to apply.
