Workshop Description

The session titled "NJDOE and NJDOH Systems During the Transition from Part C to Part B" is designed for professionals involved in early childhood education and services. This event will provide valuable insights into the processes and systems of the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) during the critical transition phase for children moving from Part C (Early Intervention) to Part B (Preschool Special Education). Taking place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the LRC Central Conference Room, the session will engage participants like Service Coordinators, Early Childhood Educators, Child Study Team Members, and other relevant personnel. Presented by experts such as Jennifer Nicosia and the OSE Preschool Team (Part B), along with Susan Evans and the EI Team (Part C), the session will cover the roles of each department during the transition, outlining procedures, best practices, and strategies for smooth coordination between Part C and Part B services. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how these systems intersect, ensuring seamless transitions for children as they move from early intervention into special education programs.
