The "More Than Just A Month" series equips elementary and social studies educators with knowledge of underrepresented historical narratives. This professional development session is a deep dive into the rich and diverse experiences of African Americans in New Jersey from colonial times to the present day. This workshop provides teachers with local historical context, resources, and strategies to effectively incorporate African American narratives into their curriculum, highlighting contributions, struggles, and achievements that have shaped New Jersey's cultural landscape and history.
