Workshop Description

In this presentation, provide an overview of high-leverage practices (HLPs) tailored for enhancing educational outcomes for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). These practices, developed through collaboration between the Council for Exceptional Children and the CEEDAR Center, are designed to equip special educators with the fundamental skills necessary for systematic and effective teaching. We will focus on four critical areas: Collaboration, Data-Driven Planning, Instruction in Behavior and Academics, and Intensify and Intervene. Each area includes specific practices proven to foster significant improvements in student performance. By incorporating these practices, educators can create a more inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environment, ensuring that all students, particularly those with disabilities, achieve their full academic and social potential.
