The Undocumented Experience: How Do We Support These Students during Secondary Transition?

Summer Learning Institute 2024

Date(s) & Time(s) July 10, 2024   ~  10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Webinar Description Presenters: Nikkilee Pedersen and Valentina Arango-Correa, The Boggs Center at Rutgers University

The intersection of immigration status and disability is incredibly underexplored and not well understood by practitioners in our field. This presentation intends to bring this systemic issue to the forefront, describe crucial information about the components of residency status, and provide a culturally responsive and person-centered framework to inform transition programming and services that leverage non-traditional supports to adequately prepare this population of students for a successful adult life.
