The New Jersey Deaf Student's Bill of Rights and the Scope of Service of Professionals in Deaf Educa

Winter Learning Institute 2024

Date(s) & Time(s) February 1, 2024   ~  10:00 am - 11:30 am
Workshop Description Presenters: Wendy Eufemia

Description: This presentation is review of the responsibilities that LEAs have under the N.J. Deaf Student's Bill of Rights, which includes Least Restrictive Environment considerations for this population. Given that this is a low incidence population, LEAs are often not clear on the scope of service of professionals who work with students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. This presentation will clarify the responsibilities of professionals in this field as it is noted in the N.J. Deaf Student's Bill of Rights.

If you require communication access services, please email dhh.education@doe.nj.gov before January 18, 2023.

This event is offered twice during the Winter Learning Institute.
