Workshop Description

Dr. Deborah Cates, PhD, Sign Language Program Coordinator, Iowa School for the Deaf, will be the presenter for this live videoconference.

Prosodic features help to create and recognize boundaries in sign, including both Signed English and ASL. In this workshop, participants will learn about prosodic features, will practice recognizing them, and will learn how to interpret the features.

Handouts will be emailed a few days prior to the workshop. If you are RID-certified and wish to obtain CEUs, please bring a check for $5, payable to BTNRH. Checks will be forwarded as a courtesy to our participants. NJDOE PD certificates will be provided after the workshop.

Coffee and food will not be supplied; however, you may bring a beverage and/or lunch for the break. In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified via email early Saturday morning.
