This session is for active school employees. Therefore, it is asked all registrants use their school email address when registering, as personal email addresses will not be accepted.
The link to the webinar will be distributed to registrants two to three hours prior to the start of the webinar.
The New Jersey Department of Education?s Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning (OSPEP) will host a webinar to provide guidance on drilling practices within the context of the current COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. Participants in this session will be provided with a monthly update to assist them in adhering to the requirements of N.J.S. 18A:41.1 (Drill Law), while also selecting and conducting drills which allow participants to follow current health guidelines concerning safe social distancing and other protocols currently recommended by the Center for Disease Control and New Jersey Department of Health.
This specific training session will reinforce the drilling information initially provided. This session will include a suggestion for the school security ?Drill of the Month? for the month of March 2021 and guidance on the performance of this drill.
The intent of this training is to support schools to help identify and implement those drilling practices which:
1) Satisfy the definition of a School Security Drill;
2) Can be safely conducted without compromising the health and safety of participants, and;
3) Can be conducted without modifications which would otherwise compromise best practices.
School Safety Specialists will be credited with 1.0 hour toward recertification for attending this webinar.
