Workshop Description

The New Jersey Department of Education's Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning will be hosting the School Safety Specialist Academy at the Burlington Township High School Performing Arts Center on August 8 - 11, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This four-day training is required for school administrators or school employees with school security experience, who are designated by their district superintendent as a School Safety Specialist. Candidates are required to attend all four days of training to be eligible for the School Safety Specialist certification.

Topics mandated by legislation will be presented as well as other best practices and resources for school safety, security, intervention/prevention and emergency preparedness.

In accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:17-43.3, all school districts are required to have a School Safety Specialist.
