Your district is encouraged to engage your talented students with disabilities to be keynote speakers and/or lead a breakout session on a topic related to self-advocacy for this event. Some sample topics include self-discovery, person-centered planning, student self-advocacy, preparing to lead your IEP meeting, and understanding your rights and responsibilities as a student both now and in the future at college. Please note that we cannot accept session proposals on the topic of learning styles as this lacks evidence of effectiveness in research literature. Registration is limited, and priority will be given to districts that have students presenting a keynote and/or breakout session.
