Workshop Description

The Division of Early Childhood Education will offer the Preschool Intervention and Referral Team Specialist (PIRT) seminar training series in 2019-2020 for new PIRT Specialists.

This training is open to:

* Newly appointed PIRT Specialists in Former Abbott Districts
* Newly appointed PIRT Specialists in Preschool Expansion Districts from the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years.

(*This seminar is NOT for the newly funded PEA districts - who are opening their classrooms on October 1, 2019).

The seminar consists of ten training sessions, each scheduled from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the NJ Department of Education, 100 Riverview Plaza, Trenton, NJ.

Participants are expected to attend all sessions in order to be eligible for reliability training on the Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT).

Please note: This registration is for all ten sessions.

May 12 & 13, 2020 (NOTE: These two days are scheduled from 8:30 to 4:30 PM.)

Note: Due to limited capacity, only PIRT Specialists in their first year in the role are eligible for enrolling in this course.

Seminar activities require participants to be serving in the PIRT Specialist position for the full 2019-2020 school year. For more information on the role of PIRT, please see NJAC 6A:13A-4.4.
