Workshop Description

This 5-week workshop focuses on developing and delivering high quality professional development to educators working with refugee and immigrant students, with an emphasis on social emotional learning (SEL). The objectives of this workshop include:

1. Increase teachers? knowledge of the cultural and educational backgrounds of students in NJ schools affected by forced migration to improve culturally responsive instruction;

2. Increase teachers? knowledge of social-emotional skills development and well-being among students affected by forced migration; and

3. Learn and practice skills for promoting SEL and positive identity development with students
