Workshop Description ***BY INVITATION ONLY***

The New Jersey Department of Education?s New Jersey Tiered System of Supports Early Reading (NJTSS-ER) grant project is pleased to announce that we are offering a professional development opportunity as an extension of the NJTSS-ER grant project for participating schools. This opportunity will build skills in early reading instruction for teachers, interventionists and coaches.

This professional development opportunity will be an engaging, interactive professional development experience that focuses on the essential components of early reading (K-3) through the integration of word work into whole class and small group reading instruction. Participants will also learn how to tailor reading instruction to meet the needs of all students including struggling readers.

NJTSS-ER project districts that choose to take advantage of this opportunity, are eligible to register up to 3 participants per district. Districts will be reimbursed up to $250 per day per attendee of the full 3-day professional development session. Districts will be provided, a reimbursement agreement, with an invoice template to complete and submit after completing the 3-day professional development session. Please be aware that the use of funds is restricted to pay for a district attendee?s time, mileage and/or the cost of hiring substitute coverage, should that attendee otherwise be engaged in the extended school-year program.
