Connecting Children to Nature & STEAM in Afterschool

Afterschool STEAM

Date(s) & Time(s) September 12, 2018   ~  9:15 am - 3:00 pm
Workshop Description New Jersey Audubon has received funding to work with aftercare providers in various areas of NJ. We are offering teams of teachers and/or administrators to attend a 5-hour professional development workshop and to become part of a Professional Learning Community.

The workshop focuses on making outdoor, place-based STEAM education accessible to all, regardless of experience in teaching science or access to traditional outdoor space. We seek to help educators build confidence in presenting STEAM activities through creating a community that can share and support each other.

New Jersey Audubon staff will also help teachers and administrators plan, develop and implement two on-site programs as well as provide teachers with material resources for them to keep.

Registration starts at 9am

Attendees will be allotted 30 minutes for lunch
