On-Site ELL Superintendent Institute Central

Leading LEAs for ELL Achievement

Date(s) & Time(s) December 4, 2017   ~  9:00 am - 2:45 pm
Workshop Description The third annual ELL Superintendent Institute is a collaborative between the New Jersey Department of Education and local districts. This institute will provide practical information that superintendents need to ensure that their instructional programs are set up for success. Workshop participants will be equipped with tools, resources, and strategies that they can use to survey their existing programs and identify opportunities for change. New Jersey Department of Education staff and superintendents representing ELL model programs will present throughout the day. There will be opportunities to interact with other attendees and presenters during the sessions.

**NEW FOR THIS YEAR**: This year, the institute will be site based in model program districts. There will be a 2 hour session with NJDOE and district staff, and then participants will visit classrooms to see programs in action and talk with building staff.

All district chief school administrators are welcome to attend and have the option to bring one additional district administrator.

Lunch will be "on your own", but light refreshments will be provided in the morning.

Information about each of the model program sites can be found at http://www.nj.gov/education/bilingual/resources/ModelProgram.htm.

Please bring identification to ensure smooth entrance into school buildings.
